Pokémon GO Tour hits Doncaster!
Raiding Doncaster and Beyond (RDAB) welcomed over 400 trainers across activities and meet-ups for the GO Tour Doncaster 2026 weekend, delivering one of the regions largest volunteer-led Pokémon GO activations to date.
The main weekend (February 28th - March 1st) recorded 366 official check-ins across activities for players aged 13+, with adjusted attendance estimates accounting for younger trainers and trainers not yet familiar with the Campfire app, placing total participation between 400-500 trainers across both days.
Road to GO Tour
In the lead-up to the event, RDABs “Road to GO Tour” activities programme saw 273 check-ins and over 320 attendees across 8 community build-up meetups, creating momentum heading into the main weekend.
Across Elmfield Park, Town Fields and the city centre, trainers took part in coordinated raid trains, community routes, AR challenges, stamp rallies and social meetups, all delivered by RDAB’s volunteer guides team.
Families, long-time players, new players and visiting trainers from across the UK joined together to celebrate the kick-off of Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment with the ingame ‘Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos’ event.
A Weekend Built on Community
For many, GO Tour Doncaster wasn’t just about raids or shiny hunts. It was about seeing familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and sharing a space where everyone belongs.
From long-time community members who have been walking these parks for the best part of a decade, to families attending their very first RDAB meetup, the weekend reflected what makes this community special: connection, laughter, support and shared memories.
Volunteers worked behind the scenes from early morning to late afternoon to keep ‘raid trains’ moving across the city, manage different activities and ensure accessibility was prioritised throughout. The scale of the meetups were significant for a community like ours, but the heart of it remained simple: trainers coming together to enjoy the game and each other’s company.
The activities also supported city-centre footfall over the weekend, with players being encouraged to engage with local businesses as part of organised activities and challenges throughout the weekend.
With 400+ trainers activated in a single weekend and more than 700 engagements over the total week, in a wet and cold month… RDAB continues to demonstrate the strength and scale of grassroots community organisation in Doncaster.

Looking Ahead
GO Tour Doncaster 2026 activities and meetups mark another milestone in RDAB’s growth. What began as informal meetups has evolved into volunteer-led, city-wide activations capable of mobilising hundreds of participants across multiple locations using digital outdoor games such as Pokémon GO.
As we look forward to future events, partnerships and expanded programming, the potential to grow further; attracting regional visitors, supporting engagement in local businesses and delivering more experiences is clear. The foundation is now proven and the ambition from RDAB is to build on it.
Planning for future city-wide activations, meet-ups and activities are already underway.

To the Players
As the final raids concluded and the last stamp cards were handed in, one thing was clear: this community continues to grow not just in numbers, but in spirit.
From the first footsteps in the city to the final group photo in the parks, GO Tour Doncaster 2026 was a reminder of what’s possible when a community shows up for each other.
The journey continues, the ambition grows, and the next adventure, and games, are already on the horizon. So with that said, until next time, We’ll meet you out there!
